Smell Like The Love Witch: Blood Berry by Heretic Parfum Review

Bay leaf wishes, honey jars, and supernatural charm—there is something so magical about love, and sometimes you want a little extra help to stand in your confidence and make sparks fly. Whether you’re well-versed in magick or just looking for new ways to attract your desires, perfume can be a powerful and practical tool to step into your body and rouse the intrigue of others.

When I want to feel confident and sensual, I like to don a heady evening scent before I walk out the door—one that feels intimate. But these kinds of seductive evening perfumes are abundant… What if you want a lighter daytime fragrance that feels just as exhilarating and dangerous?

Allow me to introduce you to Blood Berry by Heretic Parfum; a scent that is equally as captivating as The Love Witch.

A Witchy, Sensual Perfume That The Love Witch Would Reach For

Heretic Parfum’s Blood Berry embodies a sinister seductiveness without feeling heavy or cloying. On first whiff, Blood Berry made me immediately picture Elaine Parks from the 2016 comedy horror film, The Love Witch—the perfect embodiment of a sexy, dangerous woman who doesn’t really know what she wants (but knows she wants something, desperately, with all her being).

Elaine is a modern-day witch who uses spells and magick to attract her love interests. She sees life in technicolor and revels in her femininity. While Elaine stays busy looking for love, on a deeper level she yearns for a greater sense of power, success, and divinity in her life. Due to the discrepancy in what she truly desires and how she’s trying to achieve it, Elaine is quickly repulsed by her besotted paramours. Her lack of concern for the men she enchants and her reckless use of magick makes her dangerous—just like Blood Berry.

A Daily Wear Fragrance for Dangerous Women: Heretic Parfum’s Blood Berry

Blood Berry is a limited-edition fragrance from Heretic Parfum, and it is one that took a little time to grow on me, but now I just can’t give it up.

As a perfume, Blood Berry is a little unusual and not quite what you would expect from the name it’s been given. At its core, this is a clean, floral fragrance with a delicate sweetness and a hint of spice.

If you’ve ever handpicked fresh raspberries, you know that they have a really airy, floral scent to them—they’re not sugary sweet like a strawberry can be. As a result, the sweet note of Blood Berry lingers in the background, and then you get a punch of clean, citrusy bitterness from notes of grapefruit. There’s also a slight peppery bite that I can’t quite place—but it makes the fragrance feel a bit dangerous as it shines through the delicate aroma.

Altogether, this scent just screams the Love Witch. It’s feminine, soft spoken, and slightly unsettling. It has that classic, vintage floral that makes it feel romantic, but with a bit of cruelty that entrances and pulls in unsuspecting victims.

If you like a soft, delicate floral scent, but still want to show a little teeth like Elaine, you might like Blood Berry.
